Back in 1996 I broke my right thumb left collar bone,two ribs and had a knee reconstruction,then they had to go back in two more times,wasn't heeling good,I was in crutches for about 6 months then physical therapy for almost a year,gained like 20 pounds just sitting home smoking and munching 😆 after that I joined a gym got in better shape than before, I didn't ride summer of 1997-1998,summer of 99 got back on and been on since then went down a few more times after but nothing serious just rode rash ,for some reason the only way I ride is fast and I wheelie every chance I get,MAXWRIST will be back and I mean WRISTY,after it heals physical therapy is the key,you need to get that leg better and stronger than before, alot of stretching massages after exercising and rest after,and tons of 420 lol 😆

You're lucky to be able to keep that leg. Two friends of mine in Pennsylvania had a leg amputated for very similar type of crash. Once the knee is crushed and femur is splintered there's not much left that's fixable. Heal up quickly brother.

You need to think about this. I did the road bike thing from age 16 to 38. I am from the UK and my family has close links to David Jerreries who was a multiple IOM TT winner. I was at his funeral in 2003. My last bike was a Gixxer 1000. I had 2 small accidents and one near fatal and I did not ride as hard as you. I rode again after the near fatal and had one major close call later and got away with it. I knew it was only a matter of time before the game was up as I was having the mid life adrenaline seeking crisis. I was on the roads like you taking risks again. I walked away in the end. It was very hard, but there was too much at stake with family. If you can just do track days, then do it. I know so many biker friends who have either had life changing injuries or are dead.
